These programs help women achieve a better quality of life while traveling the long journey of healing after hearing the words, “You have breast cancer.”

A LOOK BACK AT THE YEAR 1997

Carol Miller was diagnosed with breast cancer. Her thoughts turned to quilting, a craft that had shaped her life. She knew of the companionship of the quilting bee. She knew of the laughter, the sharing, and the support that women gave each other as they pieced together a story from treasured remnants. She knew that when the hands were busy, the mind was freed. And she knew this was exactly the sort of thing that women with breast cancer needed to survive. And so the idea for an exhibit and auction was born to raise funds for those diagnosed and directly affected by breast cancer.
