	In 1937 Bill Bothwell, Vice President of the Club, was searching for fundraising opportunities when he heard a broadcast by Claire Wallace, who suggested that "it was shameful to demolish such a unique structure" as Casa Loma. He conceived the notion of operating the Castle as a tourist attraction to save it from the wrecker's ball, a fate the City had planned for it. The rest is history. In a unique relationship the Club has operated the Castle under a license agreement with the City of Toronto, for over 60 years.

	A Historic Building, The Church Restaurant is housed in a historic building that dates back more than a century when, in 1874, the congregation held its first service in the newly completed church. Dwindling membership took its toll over the years and in February 1975, the building was purchased and major renovations began towards a July opening as The Church Restaurant. The facade and interior decor have been maintained in their original design. The later addition of a cozy, less formal dining area, resulted in The Belfry Bar and Restaurant.
