THE QUILT Recipients

THE QUILT has donated to several recipient programs over the past 8 years including:

Wellspring is a support centre for people living with cancer and their loved ones.

Wellspring provides non-medical support programs and services to help meet the emotional, informational, spiritual and social needs of people with all types of cancer.

All programs are available at no charge and without referral.

THE QUILT contributed to Wellspring in London, ON and provided start up funds for the Calgary Wellspring and Halifax Wellspring. Stratford has their own satellite Wellspring location located at THE QUILT on Downie Street.

The Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation has been working together with health care and research professionals, patients, and the community, to raise almost $40 million annually to support groundbreaking research and the patient care and education programs.

PMHF has received development funding from THE QUILT to develop an online portal as part of a Survivorship program that services breast cancer survivors from across Canada.

The Princess Margaret Survivorship Program provides cancer survivors with an avenue to find support, meet other survivors, share valuable life stories and treatment and experiences, and gain information to help them through their cancer journey. The Caring Voices web site is an online component of the Survivorship Program whereby survivors can get connected within the cancer community and receive ongoing support.

Caring Voices is an online community for breast cancer survivors. Survivors can use the site to access current resources, learn about upcoming survivorship events, take part in chats and discussions and meet other survivors. The Caring Voices site is available to anyone with Internet access.

The Canadian Cancer Society is a national, community-based organization of volunteers, whose mission is the eradication of cancer and the enhancement of the quality of life of people living with cancer.

The Cancer Society provides support services including peer support, transportation and information services.

THE QUILT has donated over $825,000 dollars to the Canadian Cancer Society from 1997 to 2004.
